Light Duty | Medium Duty | Heavy Duty | Super Heavy Duty

Vanguard's line of welding manipulators are designed to provide years of trouble-free service. The boom and tower are a single rigid box beam construction with continuously welded ways. The "V" or Heavy Box ways are precision machined and mated with hard steel bearings on eccentric cams to assure precise alignment and smooth operation. Thick plate steeel is used for the saddle, and powerful boom and lift motors are used to ensure smooth movement during welding operations. A ROTEK type bearing provides steady, effortless rotation, even when fully loaded.

We offer Light Duty (LHQ), Medium Duty (LHZ), Heavy Duty (LHW), and Super Heavy Duty (HCJ) models of welding manipulators to meet any requirement. We also offer custom designed manipulators with more than 40 feet of vertical and horizontal reach.

Our Light Duty manipulators come in varying sizes, and are all capable of handling boom-end maximum loads up to 176 lbs.

Working with something a little bigger? Our Medium Duty manipulators allow for management of loads up to 264 lbs.

For jobs that call for even more muscle, look to our Heavy Duty manipulators, with capacities up to 441 lbs.

For when anything lighter just won't do. Our heaviest class of manipulator -- Super Heavy Duty -- has everything you need to handle loads weighing up to 1322 lbs.

Our manipulators are equipped from the factory with controls in the cabinet and pendant of integration of Vanguard positioners and/or turning rolls to configure customized automatic wleding centers.

Vanguard welding manipulators come standard with a three-part safety system.

  1. Dual worm gear self-locking gear box
  2. Oversized heavy duty chain
  3. Spring loaded mechanical latch that engages machanism. The safety latch releases only when the lifting mechanism has aquired the full weight of the boom.
